Styling a Black Sheath Dress for Winter

February has been so very, very, VERY February here in Michigan.  Very cold, very snowy, very icy, very horrible.  I’m a fan of the sheath dress, but not a fan of being cold, so layers are required in the winter.  I wasn’t in the mood to wear a blazer or sweater over my dress, so I opted to wear a striped Oxford underneath it.  Win win.  Except for the fact that I was still cold.  Did I mention the weather?  And the fact about it being cold?  Because it’s cold.  Are you picking up what I am laying down?  Smell what I am cooking?

Where did I wear this?  Work, while I was climbing the corporate ladder and business-womaning it up.  BOOYAH.

Wearing:  Sheath Dress – T.J. Maxx (ancient and quite frankly too big), Shirt – J. Crew (similar), Necklace – J. Crew Factory, Booties – Born, Bracelets – J. Crew Factory and Vintage, Lips – M.A.C. (Brickola), Nails – Essie (Wicked)

PS – I Photoshopped out a trashcan that was in the background.  You are welcome.

PPS – Sorry for the resting bitch face.  It was cold.  That is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

  1. ha ha! Love your resting-bitch face. You look like you are ready for a boardroom brawl.

Awww…I wanted to see the trash can. Adds so much gritty contrast to the polished look you have here ; )

I love a good black sheath dress. There are so many ways you can wear them.
