Last week was crazy weather-wise here in Michigan. We had several days in the 50°s and a bunch of the snow melted, then we got hit with a snow storm that dropped at least 7 inches of new snow on us and then it swung back to the high 40°s. Mother Nature is having some serious mood swings. I think she needs to be medicated. Just saying. The temps are supposed to be in the 40°s all week, so the rest of this icky white stuff should be melted off by this coming weekend. YAY!
I don’t know about you, but I have the hardest time dressing during the transition to spring from winter. I think a lot of it stems from three main things: 1) I’m sick to death of my winter clothes and want to burn them all at this point, 2) I’m tired of wearing black and want to wear some color, but 3) I can’t wear pastels. Pastels are huge right now too… Soft pink. Soft blue. The weather being completely unpredictable also makes it hard. So, I guess that is really four things.
So, I’m sticking with the basics: Jeans, a striped sailor shirt, some loafers and then throwing a coat on top to combat the chill. I’m on the search for the perfect lightweight coat for spring right now. I’ll let you know if I ever find it. It isn’t looking promising.
Where did I wear this? Church, yo.
Wearing: Shirt – J. Crew, Jeans – J. Crew Factory (Matchstick fit), Necklace – Jane, Belt – J. Crew Factory, Coat – Old Navy (ancient), Loafers – Rag & Bone, Bag – Coach, Sunnies – Kate Spade, Lips – M.A.C. (Viva Glam 1)
I scored these Rag & Bones loafers at T.J. Maxx for next to nothing. I think I skipped out of the store in glee after I bought them. I’ve been not-so-patiently waiting to wear them. I will wear the hell out of them. Be prepared. You have been warned.
Have a great day and stay classy!
