Maroon Linen Maxi Dress

I bought this dress to go to my husband’s company’s summer party. Their functions are always over the top, with great food (hello dessert bar!) an open bar, and music. Plus, I get to wear pretty dresses when we go. Unfortunately, the company had to reschedule their summer event and now it is occurring when we will be out of town. Dang it.

This dress is sort of a big deal. You see…  It requires special undergarments. I do not like having to buy special undergarments for clothing. However, I loved this dress so much that I bought a strapless brassiere specifically to wear with it. THAT IS A SERIOUS COMMITMENT. Do you know how hard it is to find a double D strapless bra that stays up? I tried on every bra in the land. Silver lining? I now have a great strapless bra and my dress options are wide open!

So, where did I wear this? Oh, you know…  To the library to pick out a book to read while at jury duty. Fancy.

  1. Gorg. That color on you is fabulous! But what I really need info on is that bra….fellow DD here and finding a strapless version that doesn’t end up as a belt is my eternal quest 🙂

  2. I’m always encouraged by your approach to interpreting new silhouettes. You look very cool and confident in this boxier cut … very contemporary with your styling elements; shoes, necklace and your signature (?) red lip. All quiet, sleek statement. Thanks again for the tutorial!
Hope you had a lovely time.
