Everlane Camel Colored Cashmere Crew Neck Sweater

Hi friends! I’m sorry for the long radio silence. Life has been absolutely nuts for me lately. I’ve been crazy busy at work and have been doing a lot business travel (Canada and Germany). Then there are my kids, whose activities pretty much keep me in the car. There have been medical appointments and hair appointments. Plus the weather has been awful. While it might be spring in some parts of the world, winter is hanging on for dear life here in Michigan. I’m SO over it.

I’m SO over winter clothes too. Ugh. However, it’s fracking freezing out, so I still have to wear warm clothes. I decided to add another cashmere sweater to my arsenal because I’ve been wearing the heck out of them all winter. I’m still absolutely in love with my Grana cashmere sweaters (here, here, and here), but opted to give the Everlane cashmere crew neck sweater a whirl. Everyone and their dog raves about it, plus and I wanted a camel colored one which Grana does not offer.

After having cashmere from both Everlane and Grana and wearing the heck out of both of them, you are probably wondering which I like better? You know…  I like them both about the same. They are both incredibly soft. They pill about the same and they wear about the same. I really don’t think that you can go wrong with either option. I’m loving having these classic pieces in my wardrobe. They are getting some serious use.

(Sorry for the craptastic photos, but I woke up to 2-3 inches of snow the day I took these. It was inside or not at all.)

Review: Grana Pima V-Neck Tee

The post really should be titled “The Search is Over. I Found the Perfect Tee.” I don’t really like to call anything perfect because I am so picky, but the Grana pima cotton tees are damn near if not totally perfect. Full disclosure… Grana sent me this tee in addition to the lovely cashmere sweaters and silk shirt to review.

The instant I put it on I could feel the difference in the fabric. Holy crap is this pima cotton soft! The fabric is nice and thick, so you don’t have to worry about bra show through. I’m talking a regular nude bra. Not hot pink or black. I love that their tees are a bit longer than some others, so you don’t have to worry about your lily white fish belly showing if you raise your arms. At $15.00 a pop, these are a great deal. Way, way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the Everlane tees. WAY. And I like those tees, but these are a zillion times better.

I think the proof is in the purchase. I bought four more. I bought two more of the v-neck and two of the crew neck. Pro tip: Size up. I typically take a medium in tees and tops, but I am wearing a large here.

Black and White to Fight the Winter Doldrums

Hi friends! Sorry for the radio silence over the past few weeks. January and the first part of February is my crazy busy time at work. I’ve been working like an insane woman. Plus, family-wise we have had a lot going on too. I feel like all I ever do anymore is drive kids around. Mom Uber. Oh, and the weather has sucked on the weekends too. Bad weather = no pictures. Not that I had any free time to actually take pictures…

This is the time of year that I don’t love. I could pretty much do without January, February and March. While it may be turning to spring in other parts of the country, Michigan is still completely engaged in and committed to winter. Spring clothing is coming into stores and there is no way that I will be able to wear any of it for a few months.

I struggle with trying to stay warm, while looking somewhat sping-ish. Come March, I refuse to wear tall boots. I’m obstinate that way. So, I opt for a neutral color scheme that doesn’t say “I’m typically worn in fall or spring”. That’s why I love black, white and red together. It’s season neutral.
